Top 10 Showcase
Last year, Bailey Vandiver and I presented our STLP group's project called the "South Warren Media Show" at the STLP State competition in Lexington. This show is a combination of pieces that inform the community about upcoming events in an entertaining way. Our purpose was to get the word out about things going on in our school/community so that we can impact those around us. As a 7th grader who had never been to state, I had no idea what to expect, but we ended up getting in the top 10 for all of the projects presented in our state and won 1st place for our feature video about technology. If you click on the photo to the left, it will link you to our winning video from last year.
Back to Back
Bailey and I came back this year with another 1st place win in the category of feature video. If you click the image to the left, it will link you the video. Enjoy!
Helping the Community
Not only does our STLP group produce news shows for our school, but also for our community. We are constantly being asked to create advertisements, PSAs, promotion videos, etc. for companies and businesses around town. You can view our projects and more at www.ihigh.com/swms which is also found on my links page.
Where it all Started
Last year, the following people came home from state with these awards. This was South Warren's first school year.
A Growing Generation
Going to state for the 2nd year in a row, these are the awarded projects from South Warren Middle School in 2012. This just goes to show what a learning experience STLP is and how everybody has and is continuing to improve.
Our STLP group is full of great, hardworking kids. But on top of the determination and success, we also make sure that we are nothing short of a family. I'm going to miss this group dearly when I go to high school next year and can only hope that there will be as fantastic of a program there as there is here! Here are some photos for you to be jealous of:
